Dourogás present in the Iberian debate on the future of green hydrogen

Dourogás attended the 1st Spanish–Portuguese Green Hydrogen Forum, held on 10 March at the Sines Arts Centre, through the participation of João Filipe Jesus, the Group’s representative at the event.

The forum brought together experts, companies, institutions and academic bodies from Portugal and Spain to discuss the development of the green hydrogen value chain in the Iberian Peninsula, within the framework of the European project FUTURETECH_H2.
This cross-border initiative, involving organisations from the Alentejo and Andalusia regions, aims to strengthen knowledge, innovation and collaboration among the various stakeholders within the renewable hydrogen ecosystem.

Across several thematic panels, the challenges associated with the production, storage and industrial use of green hydrogen were examined, as well as the role this energy carrier may play in industrial decarbonisation and in the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.
Participants also highlighted the need to create conditions that stimulate demand for green hydrogen, while simultaneously ensuring regulatory stability and competitiveness in renewable electricity generation—factors regarded as essential to consolidating this emerging industry.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to showcase projects under development in the sector, including technological and industrial initiatives that demonstrate the growth potential of renewable hydrogen in Europe.
Dourogás’ participation in this forum reflects the company’s commitment to promoting renewable gases and to developing sustainable energy solutions, while closely following initiatives that drive innovation and cooperation in the sector.
